This imaginary girl came into my mind as representing someone I might have known when I was a teenager.

A portrait of my wife. Painting someone so familiar makes likeness feel particularly elusive; I know immediately when something is wrong, even when I cannot identify why.

Based on the Greek Myth of Daphne crying out to Zues to escape the love obsessed Apollo, and is turned into a tree. This porcelain sculpture, captures the moment of her transformation as she realizes she is no longer free to roam and is becoming stationery bark and leaf.

I shot this photo from the perspective of how my grandchildren might remember me. Now they are taller but memories of me are no longer being formed. I create artwork and save it for them.

Constructed from epoxy resin and embedded symbolic materials inspired by Nefertiti, The Beautiful One Has Come explores feminine legacy, beauty, ancestry, and cultural memory. The transparent portrait honors enduring expressions of strength, influence, and identity across generations.

By bending, twisting, and stomping on this hunk of old discarded wire the piece evolved into a conceptual work of art. I polished the metal in places, but also burned and rusted some parts. It can be viewed as a relief or observed suspended in 3D. There is both beauty and ugliness in its essence.

Body of Art2 is a female reclining figure pose and her body is also a tableau of art emphasizing the artistic nature of the female form. Tattoos take you on a figurative journey through a woman?s life showing a child, adolescent, young adult, mature adult, and an elderly woman and man.

For generations, women have been squeezed, shrunk, and manipulated to appeal to the male gaze. Be this shape, that shape, be stronger, be thinner, be more feminine, be less loud, be more confident - it's endless.
How about we just be? That's Marie.

Artist Pandemic Selfies: This Close/Dives In!, two individual paintings displayed separately or combined into a diptych. The subject of both paintings is the Pandemic, my journey through that time, and my metamorphosis resulting from that experience.

As a woman we can feel stuck between the things that ground us and flying. I was recently diagnosed with ADHD and have always had the need to feel free. But now with a family and kids, they ground me in the best way!

This piece compares the physical barrier on the Rio Grande preventing migration with the invisible barriers created by antiabortion legislation in Texas. The text included are from the laws describing the attempted limitation on travel out of the state by women for reproductive care.

Upcycled sash windows are used as a canvas. Illuminating through translucent fabrics and reflective surfaces for these faux stained glass inspirations. This woman's monochromatic white spirit self is divided by a difficult choice. She prays into the candlelight looking for guidance.

Born Wild reflects the rebelliousness I carry as an Indian-American woman caught between cultures?unruly curls, bruised color and restless brushwork becoming a refusal to be neatly contained, defined, or tamed.

From the Phyllis series - five large-scale paintings born from the Greek myth of Phyllis and Demophon, reimagined not as tragedy but as an endless cycle of transformation. Each figure embodies an element. Together they form one unbroken force: nothing ends, it only changes form.

This self portratit gives the human species (other primates can also laugh) pleasure, warmth, joy, and connection with others. While laughter can also be mean-spirited, I chose to interpret this highly personal yet universal emotion in a more expansive and spontaneous way.

A woman rises through centuries of transformation, carrying the traces of identities shaped by history while preserving her inner strength. The sculpture reflects resilience, dignity, and the continual renewal of womanhood, honoring the enduring presence of women across generations.

In Korean homes, kitchen scissors are used as often as a knife. I grew up watching my grandmother and mother snip kimchi at the table. What once felt ordinary now connects me to the women who came before me, carrying memories of home, care, and tradition from past to present.

I paint women who are strong, confident, intelligent and grounded. The Redhead is also sexy and sassy. Like her, the colors and patterns are bold and assured, the lines sinuous and graceful. She's looking at you and she knows who you are.

This is the 3rd in my Rare Beauty series that celebrates the beauty of diversity and uniqueness. The young afro caucasian woman looks directly at the viewer, challenging them to behold her just as she is. The face and hand are representational while the hair and background are abstract.

This beautiful painting depicts a woman in traditional tatreez embroidery gently harvesting olives in a lush green grove. Wearing a white veil, she looks toward the branches while holding freshly picked fruit. The vibrant greens and bright blue sky evoke a deep sense of cultural heritage and peace

My GI father, 13yr older taught his young bride (18 yr) everything. In this narrative, he comes home with a bolt of cloth and a pattern, declaring there was no money so she needs to learn how to sew. He showed her how and made the dress shown. She was talented, learned quickly, made all our clothes.

Smart phones have become an essential communications tool in modern society, so much so that it is difficult to put them aside completely. Add to that the obsession with staying connected that can be created by social media and you get people literally sleeping with their phones in hand.

A physical representation of the juggling act of a mother trying to work and be the best mom she can be while keeping a smile on her face. "It's so easy! You can have it all!". she is told. The gold frame is canted away from the wall, allowing the figures of laminated watercolor to dangle and move.
