This atmospheric landscape painting is the first in my pond series. I have a pond in my yard and this old boat sits on the edge. I was trying to capture the movement in the air on a sunny day and on this particular day there was lots of movement. I made the boat the focal point of the painting.

This atmospheric landscape mixed media painting of a koi pond showcases the movement, shapes and colors of the koi swimming in the water next to the water lilies. It was fun to paint and for some reason, the painting flowed effortlessly onto the surface from the beginning to the end. A joy to paint.
